The elementary students had a special visitor to welcome them back to school this semester. Dante brought Community As Lab’s NAO robot do to a demo for the Pre-K and 1st Grade classes. NAO is an interactive humanoid robot that is fully programmable (movements, touch sensors, hearing, speaking and seeing).
Dante, a high school sophomore, has been preparing for this presentation for a while. He had to learn to code in order to program NAO’s movements, touch sensors, hearing, speaking and seeing functions. This required many hours of trials, errors and recoding to accomplish the short presentation for the classes.
Dante is an ambassador opening up doors to the next generation of coders, scientists, and engineers.
